Soul R&B singer, Allen Stone recorded this gem in 2011 and widely released in 2012. Sleep can be found on his album “Allen Stone”. I have a big weak spot for everything blues/R&B/soul and he hits the sweet spot.
He has a gospel background, which pops up in his writing and style, and lists people like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and the Meters as his influences. He currently resides in Seattle, and is on tour in Europe as I write this.

One of my favourite Canadian artists, Danny Michel, released this tune last year off his album, “Black Birds Are Dancing Over Me”. The song, “What Colour Are You” is rife with Latin rhythms, which make sense as it was recorded in Belize. You ever been to Belize?
Danny is one of those unsung types (no pun intended) who has never had major success, yet, has managed to record 12 albums since 1998. Very prolific, and one of those hard-working types that earns every new fan. I was turned on to him through his album “Valhalla” released in 2006 and have been a loyal fan ever since.
My source for English music that I never hear here (Nice word combo) sent me this song the other day. Joe Stilgoe is a jazz pianist, who has earned a music degree in England and is currently furthering his studies. Very entertaining song, in the style of piano jazz that really makes you tap your feet.
Great song, with a great chorus, features indie singer songwriter, Ingrid Michaelson doing her song “Do It Now” from her 2012 album “Human Again”. This is her 5th studio album. Her songs are regularly featured on major network TV shows, such as, Grey’s Anatomy, Bones and Vampire Diaries.
