Remembering Andre Gagnon

This Friday’s tribute is to Andre Gagnon, a Canadian composer, conductor, arranger, and actor. Born August 2, 1936, he passed on December 3, 2020. Between 1964 and 2011, he released 41 albums and multiple singles. In 1978 and 1995, he was awarded Juno awards (Canada’s Grammy) as Instrumental Artist Of The Year. Not only prolific, he was also very good. He was especially good at fusing pop and classical music with often great results.

The cut I have chosen is titled “Wow” and is taken from his album “Neiges”, released in 1975.
