As regular readers know, i am a huge fan of Canadian music, and one of my main sources for my addiction is CBC2 radio, with a dash of CKUA-FM in Alberta. CBC and CKUA both have a Top list, which is released weekly. CBC is a single list and CKUA is an album list. I am starting a new weekly feature that will highlight both charts number 1 (or 2 or 3 if I have already highlighted the number 1). Without further verbiage, lets launch.

CBC2’s chart’s number one this week is from a budding(maybe already is) worldwide superstar, Serena Ryder. A major talent, now breaking on charts everywhere. The song, “Fall” from her terrific album “Harmony”, released in 2012. Another huge hit from the record, following “Stompa”.
CKUA has been quiet on the chart front. latest being January 11. Their number one is “Weightless” by Matt Andersen. The song I pulled from the record is called “My Last Day”. He is a folk roots player out of the Perth-Andover area of New Brunswick. Great song and a great album to score.
