Marianas Trench was the 2013 winner in the Group Of The Year Category. They beat out Billy Talent, Rush, Metric and The Sheepdogs in this category. The band is a pop/rock outfit, based out of Vancouver.Their breakthrough album, “Ever After” was released in late 2011 and has gained them a wide following. It is their 3rd album. One of my favourites is the song they played on the big show, “Stutter”. Very cool video.
There you have it. An introduction to Canada’s group of the year.

Good band, beat some very heavy competition. Metric is on a roll, Rush were just inducted in the Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Billy Talent and the sheepdogs were on the cover of Rolling Stone. Not sure if they should have won, but still, interesting material.

Lot of dancing going on here, and I can’t dance. I have a feeling Sheepdogs would be my choice, without even listening yet. It’s obvious that this band has a good thing going, but middle aged rockers might be out of their targeted demographic.

Love the dogs. You could be right about the demo, but I choose to not think about it hahaha.

Ten seconds into “I don’t Know”, and Sheepdogs got me. They got robbed. They do rock. Reignwolf is from Vancouver. That dude is so good, he draws in UFO’s when he plays live.

You probably know this but they won an online contest to be on the cover of Rolling Stone a while back. Went from complete unknowns to complete knowns.

I didn’t. I am gonna get a subscription to Rolling Stone when the divorce is final. Been wanting to do that for awhile.
